RESEARCH STRATEGY of GRADUATE SCHOOL of NATURAL and APPLIED SCIENCES
As a corporate policy, projects and studies that take account of the production of information and technology that will contribute to the science in support of scientific research, have a universal quality and be beneficial to stakeholders are encouraged. As a result of the selection of Erciyes University as a Research University, within the scope of the research policy of the institution, plans are made to raise the current situation to higher levels for scientific research activities other than education. The research objectives within the framework of the strategic plan are as follows:
• Increasing the number of scientific publications and citations
• Increasing the number of indexed publications
• Increasing project-supported scientific publications
• Increasing the number of consultancy or editorship for journals
• Increasing the number of publications in journals with high impact factor
• Ensuring that each faculty member publishes
• Increasing the quota for doctorate students
• Ensuring that publications can be made in thesis studies
• Increasing the number of applications for overseas projects
Our institute's research policy, objectives, strategy and priority research areas have been determined together with its stakeholders. These are compatible with the mission of the institution and guide research decisions and activities.
Relationship of researches with local/regional/national development goals, socio-economic-cultural contribution, the level of national and international competition, its awareness by the stakeholders of the institution, its continuity and ownership are examined. The impact of research outputs on local, regional and national development goals is evaluated and related improvements are made.
RESEARCH COMPETENCE
The ratio of researchers with doctorate degrees, expertise, analysis of the overlap with the research objectives, and compatibility with the objectives are examined. Participation in systematic activities such as trainings, workshops, etc. to improve the research and development competence of the personnel is encouraged. Thanks to the project supports defined by the Erciyes University Scientific Research Projects Coordination Unit, opportunities are provided for the development and improvement of the competence of the research staff. Support is provided for travels to stay at another research center for a certain period of time for research purposes. Mechanisms to encourage inter-institutional collaborations, interdisciplinary initiatives and joint ventures to create synergy exist and are effective. Multiple research activities such as joint research or graduate programs, participation in research networks, existence of joint research units, national and international collaborations are defined and supported, and improvements are made in line with the objectives of the institution.
